If you will make choose a country in Asia that I wouldn’t mind going to over and over again, it would be Japan. It has everything you would want in a vacation:
Amazing food? YES
Beautiful sights to see? YES
A new culture to learn about? YES
People who are so darn nice you can’t help but be a million times nicer? YES
Easy to learn public transportation? YES
Affordable? YES (depends where you go, ofcourse!)
Never get bored in? A big YES!
That’s why I’m not surprised that since as long as I can remember, Japan is one of the places Filipinos have always dreamed of visiting. I instantly fell in love the first time I visited in 2014 and have been hooked ever since. I love that with every different city you go to, you get a different experience. Osaka is known for being the food and shopping capital of Japan but I love that when you’re done filling your belly and the hole of your wallet’s too big already, it still has more to offer! :) I went through KKday’s website to see if I can score deals and not surprised that I found so many!
Here they are:
1. Universal Studios Japan. The theme park that not only kids can enjoy but we adults can too! I love that the characters we all see here are the ones we grew up with and continue to love now. The rides are entertaining, too plus the scariest roller coaster I’ve ever ridden was here! I booked our tickets at KKday that was valid for a day and a half. This was perfect because you can use the half day to go around and get to know the place and the next full day to line up for rides! If you don’t get a fast pass, each ride usually takes an average of an hour wait so make sure to choose which ones to prioritize wisely! However, if you want to skip those lines, you can purchase a VIP Ticket through KKday which not only gives you that privilege but you get to go through the priority line as well and you can enter the park ahead of everybody! :) The deal doesn’t end there! With the same pass, you get admission to the 300 meter tall, Abenos Harukas’ observation deck. It’s the the tallest structure in Japan that provides unrivalled views over the city, Osaka Marina, and Osaka Bay.
Our first stop was what I was looking forward to visiting – The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I first visited USJ about 2 years ago and didn’t get to ride any attractions as the lines were too long! I think back then, there was a 2 hour and a half wait! With KKday’s USJ VIP Pass, we finally got to see what Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey was all about! It’s a 4D ride that made us feel like we were inside Hogwarts which was breathtaking especially for Potterheads like us :) We also got to taste real life Butter Beer at Three Broomsticks Restaurant!
Next stop was Sesame Street Fun World where we got to watch a dance parade of characters we grew up with like Elmo and Lala! Got to eat some themed pork buns, too which were too cute :)
Last stop on our itinerary was Minion Park! To be honest, we weren’t big fans of Gru and the gang until visiting this part of the theme park. I mean who can resist them?!
2. The Harukas 300. With KKday’s USJ VIP Pass, you get access to the tallest building in Japan as well as to try the attraction they added which is Edge of Harukas. It lets you walk through the edges of the building, 300 floors down! Perfect for the adrenaline junkie!
3. Nifrel that’s located in Suita, Osaka is the newest addition to the things to do in the city. KKday’s Osaka Amazing Pass: 30 Attractions and Transportation Pass gives you access to this modern structure that’s a museum, a zoo and an aquarium! The pass lets you use all modes of public transportation for free! Whether you pick a one day or two day one, it’s a bargain for sure :)
Last but not the least is one of the biggest public aquariums ever built, the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyuan. KKDay’s Pass gives you access to an award winning aquarium that gives you a virtual tour of the Pacific Ocean and let’s you see one of a kind sharks, manta rays and schools of fish! There’s a light installation at night too so watch out for that!
We had such an amazing time in Osaka from the time we get off at the airport and a private transfer was waiting for us through KKDAY to a day at Universal Studios Japan and all the side trips we did around the city! Our 4 day stay in Osaka made Verns so happy so we were all smiles too! :) Can’t wait to be back!
