My language of love has always been service and gifts that’s why I think It’s natural for me to go the extra mile to show the person I love much I do. Giving surprises – from surprise random gifts, to leaving random notes all over Ben’s office and room for him to find, hand written letters, moving mountains to get Ben’s gifts and even throwing surprise parties, you name it, I’ve done it! It just makes me so happy to see someone I love kilig because of something I did :) However, the people I love’s languages of love are so different from mine. Ben’s is touch and quality time so I’m almost never on the receiving end of surprises. I don’t mind though because as long as I’m shown by my family and boyfriend how much they do, I’m more than happy. :)
Then one day, on this year’s Black Saturday, Verniece and the girls of VSweeties changed all that! Verniece’s language is quality time too so getting a surprise parry from her is something I never would’ve expected. The PR of Tokyo Bubble Tea and Gringo, Louise, texted 2 weeks prior about having a meeting with the owners for a special project. I politely declined and asked if it was okay to just have it before or after Holy Week as my dad will be on vacation so I didn’t want to work to spend time with him. She insisted that it was the only day the owners were free so I just said yes! To my surprise, when the day came, I entered TOKYO BUBBLE TEA in BGC, about 30 members of VSweeties were there singing happy birthday to me!!!! It was honestly the shock of my life and I couldn’t believe it! haha That was the day I knew Verniece can win best actress if she decides to change careers, I honestly did not see any signs even if she brought two paper bags full of random items. I just asked her who she was going to give that to and she said that it was for Louise and this giveaway we’re doing with Gringo and I just agreed with any hesitation. lol While walking, I was even giving Verniece a sermon on scheduling work on Holy Week and she should avoid it next year. hahaha!!
The admins of Vsweeties have always been so sweet. They’ve actually become a big part of my blogging career and I know that I wouldn’t have gotten this far without them :) What started as a small group of 7 girls grew to a big family. I said this during my thank you speech during the party but I lost my big group of barkada in Highschool for reasons I won’t discuss anymore and became contented with the 6 real friends I have now. All along I thought it was because God wanted me to learn that quality is better than quantity but now I know that the reason why I don’t have one is because I had to make space for all these girls in my life. I wouldn’t have it any other way :)
A big thank you to TOKYO BUBBLE TEA and Louise Dizon for providing the venue and the food for this party! :) To Verniece for arranging this and for being the best actress of the day to make sure I won’t have a bit of an inkling. Ofcourse, last and not the least, to the girls behind V Sweeties, I hope you know how much I love you girls, thank you for all the gifts you gave me, the program you arranged and the time you gave instead of spending it with your family on Black Saturday! You girls made me so happy :)
