Have you ever woken up one morning, went through your Instagram timeline and saw that for some reason, you feel like everyone on your feed’s in a certain place?? In this day and age of social media and influencers, this kind of scenario’s not so alien to us anymore. It’s happened to Verniece and I, too! This event just felt a little bit different because in our case, when we landed in Amanpulo, it felt like people that we just used to see on Instagram came to life! lol
We were in Hawaii when we first got an invite from OMEGA and the team behind For Thinker Inc and the days leading to the event were filled with school work, meetings and deadlines to meet so it didn’t really sink in till hours before that we were leaving for the most beautiful island we’ll ever visit. Amanpulo is a place we’ve always dreamed of visiting but after finding out that it costs about an arm and a leg to, we decided that we’ll just save the place for something special. True enough, that something special came earlier than expected :) We flew from the tarmac in Manila at around 7:30 am and was welcomed by the OMEGA team 45 minutes later.
We were given about 2 hours to settle in and freshen up for lunch. We met our butler Jeffrey and he drove us to our own villas. Verniece and I were given separate ones but we’re too clingy for life that we just chose to sleep in one. hehe We met our villa mates who were both from Malaysia and we explored a bit more of what was around our little space in paradise. They always say time flies when you’re having fun that in just a few kembots, it was 12 and it was time for lunch! :) It was where we got to meet more of the guests and a taste of the food the island had to offer. We both initially planned to take photos during the free time we were given and while Verniece was getting ready, I told her that I’d close my eyes for a few and what I planned to be a 15 minute one, turned into 3 hours!! haha Woke up just in time for the sunset and after taking photos of what I was wearing in the morning,
I changed into the dresses we specially prepared for the welcome dinner. You could tell that everyone was still recovering from the early flight we had since everyone started to leave right after the program to get some beauty sleep for the early morning OMEGA planned for us :) We got the hotel room and there was a message waiting for us, floating in our sink, message-in-a-bottle style! It said that the morning to come will finally be the time we’ll find out why we were all brought together.
We arrived at the Beach Club at exactly 10 am. As all the guests arrived, we were divided into groups of 10 and assigned to our facilitators :) We were both part of group one and we were then instructed to head to the first station. A red iconic Vito Selma chair was waiting for us and ofcourse there’s no better way to kickstart the program than by taking a photo with it, wearing our OMEGA watches, to commemorate the trip! We all took turns one by one and off we went to the second station. We rode a speed boat to the hut where Rambo was waiting for us in the middle of the sea and it was there where we discovered OMEGA Sea Master’s ability to withstand the of 250m under salt water :) We then took the speed boat to land and then we drove the golf carts waiting for us to Aman Spa where we learned about the watch’s anti magnetism ability. For the 4th station, we found out that OMEGA is the only watch brand in the world to ever be given METAS, the certification for master chronometer. To end the morning with a bang, we then walked from the villa where the 4th station was to the most beautiful part of the island, Shark Point where we got to meet the CEO and he unveiled to us the Sea Master watches! :) After seeing them upclose, we then took a boat to the Nama Japanese restaurant where lunch was served!
We then had more free time and do what we wanted before the closing dinner. Guess what Verniece and I did? We explored the island just the two of us and enjoyed the sunset together :) It’s not everyday that we’re not behind our camera lens whenever we’re somewhere new but this time, we wanted to take it all in. We then got ready for dinner, oblivious to how special it all was going to be…
I don’t say this often but that dinner was the most beautiful I’ve ever been to. It honestly made me picture for the very first time how I want my future wedding to be!! haha! Verniece and I didn’t get to take decent photos of how breathtaking everything was but you can watch it on our vlog! :) A big thank you to OMEGA, tita Marilen and Rambo Nunez for bringing us to paradise! Till the next event!
