Why don’t we travel and explore more of our own?
This is the question I asked myself and what I extended to Verniece when we started crossing off more and more places on our bucket list. I noticed that as I write down the cities I want to see yearly, I would only find one or two that’s located in the Philippines as compared to the tens you can find around the world. I’ve been to all the places tourists mostly frequent – from Baguio, to Ilocos, to Boracay, Cebu, Davao, Cagayan De Oro, Bohol, Tagaytay, Bacolod, Iloilo, Naga and even Puerto Princessa. After seeing all those, I figured that since I’m done with the Philippines and I’ve seen what could be seen that I didn’t need to explore more.
Then this year, I travelled to the crowned jewels of the Philippines. Places that I never knew could exist here. Batanes. Siargao. Coron. That underneath all the corruption, chaos, horrible traffic and growing threat of terrorism, there’s beauty that people from all over the world would pay thousands of dollars to see and here we are taking advantage of it. We save all our hard earned cash to see places like Phuket, Scotland and Bali when we have it all here.
So the question we must all ask ourselves next, what city in the Philippines should we travel to next?
