Oh, Paris. I didn’t think I’d be back so soon after having problems with visas at the very last minute. My heart broke when we got the news a month before our trip that Ben’s might not come out in time and we have to cancel the tickets we bought last year. After all the days we felt frustrated and hopeless, we knew that it was time to give up and just plan ahead, maybe for one on the latter part of the year. I was ready to call the airline Monday, about a day before our trip, then I get a text from our contact at the embassy that his visa would be released that afternoon and he got one long enough for our trip to push through! Imagine this was a day before our trip and we had NOTHING booked! All we had were tickets for MNL-PARIS and back. I got the confirmation at 2 pm and called Ben immediately to book a flight to Manila from Cebu and pack for our 3 week trip!!! :) haha! I spent the rest of the afternoon booking hotels, flights, train tickets and tours then just started packing a few hours before we had to go to the airport. This trip was planned a long time ago (even way before our London, Paris and Iceland one last December!) yet the problem we encountered along the way made this a spontaneous one at the end :)
This blogpost is just the start of 10 planned ones and I can’t wait to share with you how my life went the past 3 weeks :) For now, here’s what we did on the 2 days we had in the city of love!
We wanted to cross each other’s bucket lists on our first Eurotrip together so we started with Paris. While I made my Eiffel Tower dreams come true last December, I’ve always wanted to see it hand in hand with a long term boyfriend ever since I started my infatuation with the city. There’s just something so romantic about Paris and seeing it with Ben just made this place so much more special for me :) Since I’ve been here before, he asked me to just bring him to the places I think he’d appreciate. We were staying at this amazing boutique hotel called Hidden Hotel just by Arc de Triomphe so of course that first on our itinerary!
We then walked towards Champs Ellysees and ate brunch plus cups of coffee afterwards :)
Our flight landed at 2 pm and got to the city at around 4 pm already so we didn’t have much time before a bit of jet lag kicked in. We just walked around our area till dinner time then headed home with the intention of heading out early the next day :)

We had breakfast at our hotel then headed out at around 10 am. We first headed to Place de la Concorde where the famous fountain from Devil Wears Prada is. I’m sure Ben didn’t care when I was telling him facts about the fountain but then again, I didn’t mind because t wanted a photo there… so… lol
Then headed towards Jardin des Tuileries to see the beautiful flowers that were blooming there. It was also on the way to The Louvre and got coffee on the way :)
The Louvre pyramid is always a sight to see and finally I got to the opposite side of it! We walked down and headed towards the entrance :) We contemplated whether we should enter the museum and see the great Mona Lisa but after seeing the line, we just laughed it off and Ben suggested that we just watch The Da Vinci code after. hahaha! He’s a funny guy, I swear.
After taking a few photos, we hailed a cab to see the great Notre Dame.
We were both starving so we grabbed a bite in a cafè with the best view of the cathedral. We were obsessed with eating steak and escargot that I think we had it three times we were in Paris! :)
We then took the train to see Jardin du Luxembourg for the first time :) I’ve read and heard alot of horror stories about pickpockets in trains and buses so I was so praning! hahaha! I hugged my bag and Ben’s like everyone inside was out to get it. Better safe than sorry right?
Top and Skirt from HM, Blazer from Forever 21, Shoes and Bag from Chanel
Finally arrived! This is our favourite park so far :)
We ended our day by walking from Jardin to the Eiffel Tower and walked some more towards Trocadero :) I wanted to show Ben more of Paris but we had agreement on the plane that this trip will be chill, light and fun! It took me a lot to control myself yet looking back now, I’m happy we agreed on that :) Can’t wait to tell you about Italy next!
