Just a few days fresh from my trip to Sinulog, I flew to Iloilo for the Dinagyang festival with Smart. It was the only Philippine festival I haven’t gone to and I wanted to complete the whole list before my body tells me that it’s time to hang my festival shoes and completely lock it away! lol I have a big feeling I’ll retire from them soon that’s why I grabbed the opportunity when it was handed to me :) It’s not my first time in Iloilo and the warm welcome I got from my first visit made me want to experience this so badly even if Verniece couldn’t come with me. I flew in Saturday morning with Dani then we went straight to the city to meet up with the Smart team :)

Right after having lunch in Breakthrough, we visited the Smart booth just in front of SM Iloilo and experienced the Smart bus. Just like with every festival I’ve been to in the past, the booth had so much activities just for Smart subscribers. They were even giving away Dinagyang shirts which everyone seems to love :) Richard, Dani and I got ours to wear for the Smart Invasion party happening later that night.
We had a few hours to spare and since Dani and I haven’t travelled together before, we caught up on each other’s lives in our hotel room :) At around 6:30 pm, we tried Iloilo’s famous Batchoy in Tatoy’s for dinner then off to the event we went! I haven’t gone to an Invasion party in so long that I forgot how crazy it can be. I’ve gone to the ones in Bacolod and Cebu but this for me was one of the most jampacked ones! Smart sponsored the whole event and we even got chance to go up on stage with our co ambassadors, Nix Damn P and MC Pao during the special segment they had :)
My short stay in Iloilo gave me the chance to bond with my Smart family and meet a few readers, some even travelled miles just to say hi! I was so killing that I couldn’t help hug a few of them so tight! haha I hope I didn’t make them feel uncomfortable! lol My Dinagyang experience just made me love Iloilo more and I can’t wait to go back :) Hopefully, the next time will be with Verniece! :) Till then!
