We’ve always supported local and it’s amazing how a Filipino brand is making waves here and abroad. Happy Skin has been around for just a few years finding solutions to all the make up woes we Filipinas have. You see, Filipina skin is very tricky and when used with just the wrong undertone, a make up look will change dramatically. My problem’s always been finding products that will fit my very sensitive skin. It’s been so sensitive that with just one use of a new product, I’ll have small rashes on that area in just 5 minutes! Vern’s problem on the other hand, is finding the contour powder that will fit her. She’s morena so she can’t use very orange-y undertones that are commonly sold in the market and have to look for grey-ish ones that are very hard to find. Guess where we got products that helped us with these remedies? :) Happy Skin!
When they contacted us about a special collaboration with Disney Princesses, we honestly just taught they wanted us to blog about the collection, we ofcourse, obliged as we were big fans and agreed to meet up with them :) On the day of the meeting, Vern was informed (I was in Korea on the day so I couldn’t join them) that they, along with Disney, chose 8 girls in the Philippines who perfectly portray 8 Princesses and represent them on their launch :) Vern called me right away and told me the details. When we found out that we were going to be side by side with not only some of the most beautiful faces in the country but also the talented ones, we felt so lucky and it was so hard to believe! :) Not only do we work with two iconic brands but also be named Disney Princesses along with them! :)
My personal favorite is Snow White but when Rissa and Iya told me that we were going to be Elsa and Anna, we couldn’t agree more. When we first watched the movie, we immediately got to relate the relationship we have with what they have. We played as kids but grew apart when we were teenagers and only got to close again after Verniece tried really hard to help me overcome a situation :)
Janina Vela as Rapunzel, Tricia Gosingtian as Aurora, Me as Elsa, Verniece as Anna, Carla Abellana as Belle, Heart Evangelista as Snow White, Karylle as Ariel and Yllona as Cinderella.
On the day of the launch, we were asked to dress like modern princesses but we both wanted to really dress as them! I mean, it’s not everyday that you have an excuse to look like Elsa and Anna right? We contacted our fairy god mothers, Nikki Duque and Vien to help us out and here’s the result:
Now what do you think? Can we really pass as Elsa and Anna? :) As promised, here’s another giveaway! You can win a lipstick from the collection as we’re giving away two! Here’s how you can:
