My previous trip to New York almost two years ago was very brief that I didn’t even get to lay my eyes on the Brooklyn Bridge. I didn’t even get a glimpse of it that on our second trip, I immediately made it one of our top priorities :) We’re staying a total of 30 days here that we wanted to explore each and every part of the city just so we won’t have to go back anytime soon. Our apartment is in downtown and in the heart of the financial district so on our first week here in Manhattan, we promised to only go around the vicinity just so we’ll just go higher and higher as our trip leads on. Lucky for us, Brooklyn Heights promenade is just a mere 18 minute train ride away from Battery Park :) We haven’t had lunch yet so we made sure to have it at Battery Park. It was only our second day on the other side of the world and we were still pretty jet lagged so our first two mornings were spent awake at 5 am, having breakfast and then heading to bed once it starts to kick in again. We left just before lunch and we headed to Pier A.
Our trick whenever we’re abroad is to only order an entreè and appetiser for every place we go to just so we get to eat and try more restaurants :) Here we just ordered swordfish tacos and key lime pie. Both were uhhhhh mazing!!This is what officially welcomed us when we got to Brooklyn.. Hello Brooklyn Bridge!! It’s nice to finally meet you!! :)
Ofcourse, I got hungry once we got there that we headed to Shake Shack! :) We spent about half an hour just soaking it all in that we’re.officially.in.NEW.YORK!!!! :) We just sat staring at the skyline. Took quite awhile for it to sink in! After that, we just grabbed ice cream then headed back to the city :)
Obligatory tourist shot! :)
Look at how beautiful that skyline is :)
