Believe it or not, the bridge behind all my outfit photos today is not the bridge the famous nursery rhyme is pertaining to. I had the shock of my childhood life (okay, maybe exaggeration) when we took the River Thames cruise and our guide told us that the ordinary looking bridge ahead of us is what is falling down in the song and not the big one everyone thought it was! I know blasphemy! HAHA! But this my friends, is what they call the Tower Bridge :|
Nonetheless, it’s still very pretty in person and this is one of the things apart from the Big Ben that made us realize that we were really in London :) Just beside the Tower Bridge is the famous Tower of London where the Crown Jewels is kept :) It’s also the old castle that kings used to live in before they built the Buckingham Palace. This was the first castle we saw so this holds a special place in my heart even if it’s probably the most ordinary looking amongst all the others :)
In there, we even saw our first sighting of a queen’s guard and even a little skit on Anne Boleyn! Definitely made us felt like we were back in time! :)
Just right outside the Tower of London was St. Paul’s Cathedral, the biggest catholic church in the world next to The Vatican! You can see it peeking through the photo below on the right and that stretches all the way down the street :)
Right after that, we crossed the Tower Bridge again and ended up in a Portuguese festival! :P
Then we walked further down the road and even ended up in Borough Market for awhile and then crossed one of the oldest churches since the line to enter St Paul’s was too long :) It was very small and quaint!
After that short little visit, we went to the oldest London pub, The Anchor and it was built in 1619! We had our first fish and chips and believe it or not, we liked pubs so much that we ended up there once a day for a week. Sometimes, even twice since we drink there after our tours! :P haha!
The sun finally set at around 7.40 and to walk our dinner off, we headed straight to Shakespeare’s Globe. The original one burned down years ago but this is the exact replica :) His plays are still being shown here and only go 5 pounds a ticket but they can go for hours! haha!
There you have it! Hope you liked today’s tour :)
