Chi Lin Nunnery, Hong Kong
Dressing for Hong Kong can be quite tricky as it’s considered a sub tropical country since when it’s cold, it gets reallllly cold! When we went on the second week of August for ROOMORAMA, it was still very hot but it was also raining like crazy then windy the next minute. It was also so bipolar just like Singapore’s now that we’re getting closer and closer to the rainy season but the only difference is it never rains or gets cold in SG :) So here are a few tips on how you can dress for city’s weather.
1.Layering is an essential in Hong Kong especially when you need something to cover you up for the cold, the rain or even to use it to shield you form the sun :) A smart way is placing your sweater like I did especially when you’re bringing a sling bag around like this one and you can’t place it inside when it gets hot :)
2. Bring an umbrella and sunglasses with you around.
3. You will do a lot of walking so make sure to wear comfortable shoes or flats you can change to when your feet gets tired from heels :) 4. Wear an outfit you can easily change into and out of since you will be doing ALOT of shopping in the city. I’m very sure of this :) Like this combination where it will take me a few seconds to since it’s just three items to remove :)
5. Refrain from bringing a heavy or big hand bag with you. Trust me when I say this is a big hassle especially when you start shopping. I did this on my first day and I had the worst back pain the next day. Keep it small where it will fit your phone, money, passport and change :)
