I wanted to blog about my Hong Kong trip before all the Laboracay madness begins all over the internet because this will be old news once it does! I just landed earlier at 6 in the morning and I just got up to get some work done before I leave for the island on Thursday :) This blog post’s first on my list of things to do! I’ve been waiting to finish college the whole year round because it was only till I do that I’ll get to quench my thirst for travelling and my first place was Hong Kong. I arrived Sunday morning and was bound to leave just a mere 48 hours later so I wanted to get as much done with the short time I had there :)
I met up with Ben’s family and we went straight to Citygate outlets. Well, Hong Kong really knows how to drain your wallet. haha! We had lunch there, too!
After citygate, we headed to Hong Kong Disneyland. I’ve been there a million times before (September2013 was my latest one) but I was so excited for this because this time would be different. I never thought I’d be going to the happiest place on earth with someone special! :) That place never gets old, I swear and the RC Racer in Toy Story Land still got me. There was still so much new things to see about the place since my perspective was a bit different this time :)

Our first ride!
The ride back to the hotel from Disneyland was the venue for one of the best naps I’ve had in the world! haha

We wanted to check out the night market in MongKok and in the middle of shopping, we found this little sushi place. I love trying local street food of different countries because it gives me the authentic taste of their palette and cusine. I’m so happy that both Ben and Ger were game for it, too! :) The last time I had baby octopus was in Singapore last year so my stomach kinda did a happy dance when I saw this.
We ended our first night in Lan Kwai Fong for some drinks and pizza! :)
We started our day 2 pretty early when we went to Times Square Plaza to check out the designer brands.
We then took the MTR to Mongkok again to do more last minute shopping! :)
We stayed in the area of Causeway bay this time. A nice change from the usual Canton Road and Central we all usually stay in :) There’s another side of Hong Kong! HAHA!

Street chinese food this time :) We headed to our comfort zone after too much of Mongkok! haha
Ben and I have about 4 other trips booked and planned this year so we had our first “date night” Hong Kong. We’ll be with friends and family during the trips so we decided to start a new tradition of making sure that our last meal in the city we’re in to just be the both of us in a nice restaurant. A change from all the street food we’ll be having just to close our trips in a romantic way :) How lucky am I to have found someone with the same love for food and adventure? :)
We had dinner at Shiro! It’s a nice restaurant at Haysan Plaza in Causeway bay where the view overlooks the city :) The food was amazing too!
