Baguio City, Philippines
Our trip to Baguio for the Christmas was very last minute. I think we planned it just two or three days before. We used to spend our Christmas every year in Hong Kong for the cold weather and because it’s been three years since we last did this, we were so happy that we were finally going to a place here in the Philippines where the weather comes close. Much to our demise, the weather was disappointing. It was pretty warm for our outfits since all we brought were boots, thick jackets and sweaters. Good thing I always bring basics with me when we travel so Verniece and I shared them when it gets too hot in the afternoon :) Anyway, during the trip, all we did was eat, drink and bum with our cousins. We ate like 5 times a day! haha Here are few photos we’d like to share with you before the holiday spirit runs out :)
We stayed in The Manor in Camp John Hay. It’s been about 11 years since I went to Baguio but just two for Verniece and the rest of my family. I forgot how cozy this place can get!
All the kids had the room to ourselves so imagine how much riot happened in 214! haha We vary in age so the levels of commotion we made differed as well. Imagine this happening in the room, a 4 month old sleeping in his stroller in the corner with his yaya, a 1 year old crying with his yaya consoling him, a 2 year old and a 9 year old shouting and running around, my brother Vernon who’s 15 and my cousin AA whos 17 wrestling and playfully beating each other up in the room and me -20, Verniece-19 and our other cousin Andrea who’s 16 non stop noisily babbling about everything. All of that happening in the four corners of a 100 sq. suite! HAHA!
We had a few hours to bum so the kids went around Camp John Hay while the parents slept and recovered from the drive up. At around 8 pm, we went to The Clubhouse to have our Christmas dinner :)
Right after dinner, we waited for the clock to strike 12 by chilling with cheese, cold cuts and junk food :)
Since we were still so full from our dinner and the snacks we had after, here’s our little noche buena!
On our second day, all the kids took a walk up to look for Starbucks just right after lunch while the parentals and the younger ones went back to rest and explore the hotel on their own.
Our little Christmas elf!
Just before it went dark, we went to the city proper to do the tourist things we could do in the short time we had. We went horse back ridding and went to The Mansion :)
We were up till around 5 in the morning so we all woke up just in time for check out. The dads were eager to go home and have lunch in their favorite restaurant in Pangasinan so all we did was visit PMA for the little boys :)
There you have it! What did you do during the holidays? :)
